Pittsburgh Loves Water

I too have finally made it to Delhi and joined KT and Tarini for filming. After an exciting arrival (which will be explained in a post soon) I have hit the ground running. But before we post all about the filming process and the plethora of things we are learning everyday I want to give a shout out to all the amazing activists, artists, and just plain awesome people I met while fundraising for Groundwater Up in Pittsburgh. We are so lucky to have such support from the Pittsburgh community, including our fiscal sponsors, Roots of Promise of the Thomas Merton Center.

One of the highlights of my time in Pittsburgh was the fundraiser we threw at the Space Upstairs.

The night featured a performance by singer/songwriter Mike Stout, a showing of Tarini’s previous film “Narmada Rising” (and a great discussion about the impact of large dams), and water-themed music, dance, and performance art by the members of the Pillow Project. A special thanks to Pearlann Porter and the Pillow Project for their help with planning, logistics, for loaning us the excellent space, and of course for their artistic offerings!
