Photos from our trip to Renuka Valley in Himachal Pradesh, where a proposed dam has recently received environmental clearance to be built to bring water to Delhi. (For more, see our post “A Valley is a Terrible Thing to Waste“).

  1. Aurobindo Mukerji says

On the main roads of Delhi city 100 year old trees are destroyed by the municipality and electricity distribution companies by pouring buckets of acid in the roots and there is nothing that we can do. I weep – I weep for the people, the flora and fauna of Renuka-ji. Is this the Democracy we have sacrificed everything for???. Vote bank politics finally rules in India be it any political party- whoever. I do not have a single hope for this country. We have been systematically sold out to the petty roadside property dealer mafia
