Get on the Bus Productions

We are Tarini Manchanda, Katie Gillett, and Moriah Mason, and together we make up a filmmaking collective called Get on the Bus Productions*.

We met in 2007, when, along with 25 other students, we packed up our backpacks and embarked on a trip around the world as part of a study abroad program called Rethinking Globalization. It was during this 9-month-long journey that we began to learn to think critically about the effects of economic development in Tanzania, India, New Zealand, and Mexico by speaking to communities, organizations, and activists in each country.

“The Groundwater Up Project” is our first collaboration, but we’re hoping it’s just the beginning. We’d like to continue learning about issues of international justice and using film and media to share these stories in a creative and engaging way.

*Want to know why we decided to call ourselves “Get On the Bus”?? Check out our blog entry about the name, which explains everything.

Why did the students cross the globe?...To get to the other side, of course!
